A decision tree is a way that computers or AI programs make choices, similar to a flowchart. Each point in the tree asks a question (like "Is it raining?"), and the answer leads to the next question or decision. It's called a tree because it starts with one question and branches out like tree limbs.

Decision trees don’t think for themselves. They follow predefined pathways set during training or programming. This means they simulate intelligence but only within fixed rules.

This is how the "AI" in many computer games works: game characters appear smart but are really just following programmed paths based on what the player does.
