Simple definition of Neural Network
A Neural Network is a type of computer system that tries to think like a human brain.The term comes from “neurons,” which are the cells in our brains that send signals to each other.
In AI, a neural network is made of layers of connected “nodes” that pass information around to learn patterns. It's used in many technologies like voice assistants, facial recognition, and spam filters. While powerful, neural networks can sometimes make mistakes or be hard to understand, even for their creators.
How to explain Neural Network to kids
To explain a neural network to a child, say it's a computer's way of learning by copying how our brains work. It looks at lots of examples to figure things out, like how to tell a cat from a dog, just like kids learn by seeing and trying.
Here’s how to think about it
Imagine a giant team of guessers who each take a tiny piece of a problem such as, "Is this a picture of a dog?" One guesser checks the ears, another looks at the tail, another at the color. Then they talk to each other and share what they think.
If they get it right, they remember how they did it. If they get it wrong, they try again differently next time. Over time, they get really good at figuring things out!
